"C" Squadron Group pushed south down track at 739251 and after engaging a platoon position south of feature 38.6 reach the main road at last light, engaging 4 x SPs in Pond Wood, 7323. Weverslo, 7425 strike main Deurne - Venray road at 753249 overrunning a Company position.
After engaging another company position at
Heide, 763243 the leading troop reached 772244 at last light. "A" Squadron reached
Heide via 755244. Harboured in area
Heide for night. 225 PWs of the 65th Training Battalion and HQ 269gh Training Regiment of 180th Training Division taken during the day. 2 x 75mm infantry guns, two x 75mm A/Tank guns and some transport destroyed. |
