1Regimental training. Regiment moved into camp. This was at Commondale, "a splendid camping ground at any time" 23H Story Page 17.
2Lieut Colonel C.B. Harvey posted to 10th Royal Hussars. Command of the Regiment devolved upon Major M.F. Morley. 2 x Scout Cars, 3 x Leyland 3-ton lorries, 6 x Fordson 15-cwt trucks, 1 x Morris W/T truck, 2 x Ford 4-seater utility cars and 3 x M/C Combinations received. 23H Story Page 17.
31st Crews practised loading war flats. 3 x Leyland 3-ton lorries received.  
4Normal training. 
5Regimental exercise. 1 x Company 8th RB under command.

82/Lieut Beale joined the Regiment for duty. 1 x Tank, Infantry Mark III arrived.  
9-10Regimental exercise "A". 23H v 24L. 1 x Mark III tank arrived.  
11Normal training. 3 x Mark III tanks arrived. 
12Lieut Colonel R.P. Harding, D.S.O., assumed command of the Regiment. 23H Story Page 17.
13Regimental training in camp ended. 1 x Mark III Tank received. 
14Normal training. 
15-17Brigade exercise No.1 (CHRIS). 
18Regiment returned to billets in Whitby. 3 x Mark III tanks arrived. Major R.M. Milbanke, M.C. posted to 10th Royal Hussars and Major C.H. Blacker posted from 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards. Ralph Mark Milbanke's father, Sir John Peniston Milbanke, was awarded the V.C. during the Boer War. He was killed in 1915 during the Gallipoli Campaign. Sadly, Ralph shot himself to death in his Mayfair flat in 1949.

"Monkey" Blacker would eventually become Colonel of the Regiment.
19Normal training. 
20-23Brigade exercise No.2 (BULL). 26 x Other Ranks arrived from Training Regiments on 23.9.41.  
24Concentrated 2nd Crew and Echelon training starts.
