Fohr Island was the official "holiday resort" for 23H men whilst at Husum. Parties of 40 or more were ferried from Dagebulle (north of Husum) to Wyk (the main port/town on the island) from June until mid-Septamber, 1945. The men stayed at the Strand Hotel in Wyk.

Built in the year 1912 at the HC Stulcken shipyard, Hamburg (No. 434), she was originally designed to carry 260 passengers (no vehicles). Her length was 33.29 m. width 6.02 m, draught 1.20 m. She had a Benz engine capable of a speed of 9 knots. Post-war she underwent various changes in design and ownwership. The last sighting of her was when she was sold to TDG Shipping Ltd. Belize in 1989.
