Notes

A ms letter (31pp, with ts transcription, 13pp), describing various incidents during his time with 23H was written by George to his father. The letter is dated 26 October 1944 and was written whilst George was recovering from his wounds in Tyrone Auxiliary Hospital, Barcath, Pembrokeshire. The letter was deposited with, and is available from, the Imperial War Museum.

George is on the list of those who attended the 23H reunion in 1959.
